Section 1 Content
The DX is a fully automated 4-plate processing system capable of performing multiple assays per plate. The DX employs a modular design that provides flexible configuration, and has been developed for ease of use. The DX incorporates many features to ensure the quality and security of results, but yet is able to handle a wide variety of assays. Simply put, the DX offers flexible and reliable sample-in/result-out processing for true walk-away automation.

Modularity
Section 2 Content

The DX modular design facilitates upgrades, repairs and reconfiguration. Each module can be installed and removed quickly and easily.

  • Upgrades. As needs change, the DX can be upgraded by simply sliding a new module into an existing position. The DX software automatically recognises the new module.
  • Repairs. To keep critical lab assays running, both time and money are saved with rapid repairs that do not require a service technician. Once a replacement module is received from the local supplier, installation takes only minutes.

The modules include

 (a)  Reader  (d)  Sample ID (barcode reader)
 (b)  Washer  (e)  Ambient Drawer
 (c)  Incubators (space for 4)  (f)  Electronics Pod (standard)

Ease of Use
Section 3 Content

The DX is simple to install, set up and use. Installation, programming, assay set up and daily maintenance are all designed to keep the lab focused on its results and not on the instrument.

  • Installation. Takes less than an hour.
  • Software. Revelation™ data analysis software offers a graphical user interface with intuitive Windows® based operation.
  • Worklist Set Up. The software Wizard guides the operator through setting up a work list through step by step graphic instructions on the positions for samples, components and plates.

Assay Performance
Section 4 Content
  • Pipetting Precision. The use of disposable tips ensures zero carry over. Rapid pipetting speed minimises assay drift, ensuring consistency across a plate and also plate to plate.
  • Consistent Washing. This gives consistent results and lowers overall CVs. Several user-definable options provide significant programming flexibility.
  • Contains operator contamination due to washer aerosols.
  • Environmental Control. The dark cover is locked in place during operation and
    • Protects against exposure to contaminants, e.g. light, dust or alkaline phosphatase.
    • Contains operator contamination due to washer aerosols.

QC Features / Process security

  • Revelation™ Software. This includes powerful QC equations such as Levey-Jennings statistical analysis, as part of the comprehensive QC monitoring of assay performance.
  • LIMS Interface (Optional software package). This allows the DSX to communicate with the laboratory host computer to download pending test orders and to upload completed results.
  • Sample Identification. An on-board barcode reader tracks samples and plates in process.
  • Alarms. “Wash buffer low” and “waste full” alarms.
  • Pipette Security. Fluid level sensing, tip detection, tip-ejection and clot detection functions protect your assay as well as the DX robotic pipette.
